Director

Early Childhood Development Centers

Hello my name is Amy Kochis. I was born in Farmington, Michigan and at age 9 I moved to Doylestown, Ohio. Immediately following high school, I began my journey as a preschool teacher while pursuing my degree as a child life specialist. Over the past 30 years, I have dedicated my career to creating a nurturing and enriching environment for young learners.

My academic journey is anchored by a Bachelor of Arts in Family and Child Development with an emphasis in Child Life from the University of Akron. Building on this foundation, I pursued and obtained a Master of Education in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University, followed by a Master of Education in Leadership.

My tenure at ASU Preparatory Academy since 2008 has been a transformative odyssey. Initially, I spent eight fulfilling years as a dedicated Kindergarten teacher before transitioning into multiple leadership roles. My administrative roles have included serving as mentor, Athletic Director, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal, each providing invaluable insights into the multifaceted world of education.

Outside the realm of academia, I have been happily married to my caring, supportive husband, Mike, for over 20 years. Beyond my professional life, my heart finds joy in spending time with family, travel, and colorguard. The fine arts have always been a profound passion of mine, and I find fulfillment in nurturing artistic expression.

At the core of my professional philosophy lies an unwavering belief in the power of teamwork. My desire is to cultivate an environment where the interests of children, families, and staff are always the top priority. I am dedicated to fostering a collaborative community, while ensuring every member feels empowered to contribute their best. As an educator and life-long learner, my goal is to prepare students for the rest of their lives and make decisions that will impact them in a positive and productive manner.

Respectfully,

Amy Kochis
